The weave drill is designed to help QB's move effectively when they are in tight quarters. For example, if an Offensive Lineman is getting driven back into the Quarterback's lap, the weave drill will help the QB make the necessary movements and make the play.

One of the keys to moving effectively in the pocket for a Quarterback is to constantly keep the eyes downfield. It is common for a Quarterback's eyes to drop when they feel pressure in efforts to avoid the sack. The weave drill, along with all of the other drills in the Cardale Jones QB training package, is designed to allow Quarterbacks to move effectively without ever losing focus on what is happening down the field.

Keeping the eyes downfield while moving in the pocket will allow the Quarterback to find the open receiver and make the big throw, even under pressure.
