Window #1: The point at which the football is at the furthest point from the Receiver’s body. Window number one gives the Receiver the best possible chance to consistently make the catch because the defender will not be able to reach the ball.
Window #2: The Football is slightly closer to the Receiver’s body than Window number one. This is not the ideal way to make a catch because it is possible for the Defender to reach around the Receiver’s body to knock the ball away.
Window #3: Receivers need to avoid attempting to catch the football in window number three at all costs. This is the point in which the ball reaches the Receiver’s body and when most drops occur. When the ball reaches window number three, the Receiver has an extremely limited visual and the ball can bounce off the Receiver’s equipment.
